This is a well established short course that provides a background to the posture management of a severely disabled person. Theoretical and applied sessions provide a background to the posture management of the severely disabled person. Management is essential in order to optimise remaining functional ability and minimise secondary complications associated with this client group. The course is led by Wendy Murphy, Consultant Physiotherapist and Pat Postill, Physiotherapist (NOC).
The course will be ran by Wendy murphy and Pat Postill (with input from Dave Long). Wendy Murphy is a physiotherapist and helped develop the course, she is also a senior lecturer of the course. Pat Postill, Physiotherapist has contributed to the design and development of the current course and teaching throughout taking special responsibility for case studies and facilitation of ‘hands on’ practical sessions with clients. Dave Long, clinical scientist, has also contributed to the design and the development of the course. His specialist knowledge covers most of the bio-mechanical aspects of physical management.
This is a short course and provides a solid introduction to the issues pertaining to the physical management of children and adults who have profound and complex disability.
